services

I provide HIPAA compliant virtual sessions to anyone within the state of California. I see adults, teens, and sometimes families. Sessions are 45-50 minutes. My fee is $200 per session and can go up to $320 for 90 minute family sessions. I keep lower fee spots available as well, please ask for availability. I am not a part of any venture capitalist backed therapy services, and there are many that I don’t need to name, because I don’t believe that’s the best way to deliver mental health care. In this world of AI, I don’t trust my confidential treatment plans and session notes to be managed by companies who care more about profit than quality and effective therapy. Nor do I want to be constrained by a limited number of sessions, mandatory client questionnaires, or limited types of diagnoses to treat. I am part of the Open Path Collective, which offers lower fee counseling with me if you qualify.

People come to me needing help with some form of anxiety or OCD, depression, codependency, or relationship stress. I believe our mental health is influenced by family and relationship dynamics, as well as our culture and beliefs. My approach is attachment-based and I bring in Inner Child work. With so many years working in a large HMO, my clinical tool box also includes evidence-based modalities like Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). I mold our sessions based on what aligns with your needs.

So you can probably gather by now that I do not accept insurance. Your PPO may offer partial reimbursement in which case I can provide a superbill (billing statement) for you to submit. In doing this please understand your insurance company reimburses based on treatment provided for a medical diagnosis. This diagnosis will become part of your medical record and will be considered a pre-existing condition. I recommend checking with your insurance provider beforehand for reimbursement guidelines. I do not interact with insurance companies in any capacity.

The “small print”:

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.  You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises. You also have a right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” to help you estimate the proposed cost of your care. This will be provided to you electronically before receiving care.
